Just before halftime the Mountaineers got on the board on an Alison Gradischer goal to send cut the Drexel lead to 3-1 heading into intermission.
The Dragons extended their lead when Carolina Gibernau converted her third penalty stroke in as many attempts 15 minutes into the second half. Bolger would add her second goal of the day seven minutes later to give Drexel a 5-1 lead. Appalachian State went on to score two goals to close the margin, but the Dragons held on to take the victory.
